Iftikhar Ahmed Malik from the North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (NKTI) has been elected unopposed as a member of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) managing committee on vacant seat of town association for the period 2005-06. Shahid Ismail from the Federal B Area Association of Trade and Industry informed the Secretary KCCI, who is also returning officer, that he had filed his withdrawal of nomination papers.
Therefore, there would be no election on Saturday June 11,2005, following the withdrawal of nomination by Shahid Ismail.
While talking to newsmen, Shahid Ismail said that he had withdrawn his nomination in the best interest of business community and wanted to create an amiable working atmosphere at the KCCI.
