imageThe social media platform, Facebook iconic ‘Like’ button just got a major revamp. The move came as the company own research was of the view that people favored the thumbs up logo as opposed to the stylized F logo.

The old stylized F logo would now be making way for a thumbs-up instead. "Our hypothesis was that more people would understand the thumbs-up icon on the Like button, so we conducted qualitative and quantitative tests to measure them side-by-side," Facebook said in a blog post. "The results revealed an increase in engagement, so we are switching the Like button from the Facebook 'f' logo to the thumbs-up icon."

iDigitalTimes reported, that in addition to the ‘Like’ redesign, Facebook will also launch separate icons for various actions like following, recommending and saving articles. The Instant Articles feature will also receive buttons for sharing, like and commenting on articles.

“In the coming weeks, Instant Articles publishers will be able to add Like, Comment, and Share buttons to the bottom of their Instant Articles, and interactions with these buttons will be included in aggregate Like and Share counts” said Facebook.
