Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB) Managing Director Brigadier Iftikhar Haider (Retd) has directed engineers of filter plant to take all possible measures for filtering water of germs and other contamination's.
He also asked to conduct all tests of the water samples obtained from supply lines so that more hygienic water could be supplied to people.
He issued these directives during his visit to C.O.D. Filter Plant on Sunday. He also visited the water test laboratory situated in the Filter Plant.
Chief Engineer (Bulk) Ali Mohammad Palejo, Superintendent Engineer Zaheer Abbas, superintendent Engineer Najam Alam and Chief Chemist Farhat Naveed Zaidi were also present on the occasion.
Iftikhar went round different portions of the filter plant and inspected various phases of water filter process.
He said that supply of clean water is the responsibility of water board, therefore, no slackness would be tolerated in this regard.
He underlined the need of adopting latest methods for water testing.
