Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal has raised funds for the Rohingya refugees on Saturday.
Ajmal has put special efforts to raise funds for Rohingya refugees. As per reports, it’s estimated that about 25,000 people, mostly Rohingyas, have fled Myanmar and Bangladesh this year, taking their chances on surviving the open seas, hoping to find refuge in any country.
According to local media reports Saj Sadiq, editor of cricket portal, who was present at the charity event, tweeted, “With the support [and] efforts of Saeed Ajmal, £30,000 was raised yesterday at the charity event for Rohingya refugees”.
Ajmal is currently representing the English county Worcestershire in the hope of regaining form and confidence. He said, “I believe that by playing County cricket you are giving yourself an advantage and a good grounding for international cricket”.
