KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Saturday extended the pre-arrest bail to Dr Zulfiqar Mirza and his associates until 10th June 2015 in a case pertaining to attack on Darakhshan Police Station.
Former Home minister Sindh Dr Zulfiqar Mirza arrived at ATC with his counsel under tight security of Ranger's scout. Lawyers of Dr Mirza requested the court to extend his pre-arrest bail. The ATC judge after hearing arguments extended pre-arrest bail to Dr Zulfiqar Mirza until June 10.
Dr Mirza has been charged with attacking Darakhshan Police Station during his visit for recording statements in the cases registered against him in District Badin. In this concerned case, Mirza was booked for allegedly besieged and vandalized at the Darakhshan Police Station during his appearance there for recording his statement.
The case was registered against disowned leader of Pakistan People Party (PPP) after Inspector General (IG) Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali took serious notice of the matter.
Dr Mirza and his many associates were initially booked in three anti-terrorism cases of attacking a police station in Badin, attempted murder and forced closure of shops.
