imageKARACHI: Chief Selector Haroon Rasheed said on Monday that he was disappointed with the lack of finishing touch by set players in both the Twenty20 Internationals.

"We should have won both the matches in a clinical and convincingly fashion. But our set batsmen failed to finish the match in style," he told APP.

He was of the view that batsmen like Mukhtar Ahmed, Umar Akmal and Shoaib Malik should have finish the match without much problem by four or five wicket.

However, he said, our batsmen failed to give both the match proper finishing touch

Haroon Rasheed said after a massive opening partnership in the first Twenty20 between Mukhtar Ahmed and Ahmed Shahzad, Pakistan found it tough reach the winning target in the last over.

Commenting on the wholesale changes in the ODI squad as compared to Bangladesh tour, he said, he and co-selectors in consultation with captain and chief coach are looking for pool of players.

He negated the impression that Younis Khan's one-day career is over.

"We are trying Asad Shafiq in his place and Younis is not discarded," he said.

Responding to a question on the non selection of Mukhtar Ahmed in the one-day squad after sterling show in T20s, he said was not been considered for 50-over games.

Regarding the selection of Shoaib Malik, he said after Saeed Ajmal, they needed a support bowler in Malik. "He (Malik) is experience player and we are trying check him," he said.

Responding about the announcement of the team late in the night, he said it was done because of logistic problem and start of ODI series on Tuesday.

On lack of strike bowlers after Wahab Riaz, Muhammad Sami and Yasir Shah, he said Mohammad Hafeez and Malik will play the role of support bowlers.
