imageISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani on Tuesday directed the members of the House to ensure their presence to dispense with their business placed on the order of the day.

The Chairman observed soon after the Question Hour and reminded those members of their obligation who were not present to ask their questions and said their presence was imperative.

"If we ask the government and ministers and the bureaucrats to ensure presence in the House during house business, then the Senators must also be there to ask their questions and supplementary questions", he said.

The Chairman said once any member puts a question, it undergoes an exercise to bring in the answer to the House. Therefore, if the movers are not present at the time when their questions are taken up it means that the time consumed to submitting a reply by different ministries and divisions, is wasted.

"Therefore, ensure it that all those members whose related questions are on the agenda, must be present in the House to make question hour more meaningful", the Chairman stated.
