imageISLAMABAD: State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali on Wednesday assured the Lower House that the issues of road blockade of the villagers living adjacent to Tarbala dam would be resolved on priority.

Responding to a calling attention notice, moved by the Umar Ayub Khan, demanding attention of the minister about the problems being faced by the villagers owing to the construction of boundary wall around Tarbela dam causing difficulties for the movement of the villagers of adjacent areas.

The minister said that there was no road blockade for the locals due to the construction of boundary wall being constructed by the Tarbela Dam management.

He said that " peoples of the area fix the time for meeting we are ready to settle their issues on priority".

Earlier, speaking on the calling attention notice, MNA Umar Ayub Khan said that construction work on boundary wall in district Haripur by the management of Tarbela Dam project thus cutting off the surrounding villages from access to the road network, causing grave concern among the people.

He stressed the relevant authorities to take maximum steps to provide facilities the masses of the area.
