imageKARACHI: International Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE) has invited children, youth and adults to share their thoughts and ideas about what education means to them in times of crisis through an essay contest.

Entries for the INEE Essay Contest can be sent via email [email protected] by October 19, said organizers on Thursday.

The competition is being organized in collaboration with War Child Holland and UNICEF to highlight relevance of education in emergencies.

Children, youth and adults are invited to submit their stories about what Education in Emergencies means to them and Why is it Important.

Essays can be written in Arabic, English, French, Portuguese or Spanish, they said mentioning that there are three categories for participants of the contest with specific word count for each group.

Those between age of 6-12 years can make their submission of 150 words; 13-17 years of 500 words; 18 years and above - 1,000 words.

Winners will be announced in December, and there will be education-related prizes for the winning participants.
