imageAngelina Jolie recently pays a visit to Queen of England at Buckingham Palace where she was awarded with ‘Honorary Dame’, the insignia of an Honorary Dame Grand Cross of the most distinguished order of St. Michael and St. George.

According to foreign media reports, the 39-year-old activist received the title, referred to as the female equivalent of an honorary knighthood, because of her work to end sexual violence and her services to Britain's foreign policies.

Because she’s an American, she will not be addressed as ‘Dame Angelina Jolie’ but will bear the title with the initials of the award ‘DCMG’ after her name. Maleficent actress said, “To receive an honor related to foreign policy means a great deal to me, as it is what I wish to dedicate my working life to. Working on PSVI and with survivors of rape is an honor in itself. I know that succeeding in our goals will take a lifetime, and I am dedicated to it for all of mine,” media reported.

No media person or spokesperson was invited to the private ceremony which is why the details of the meeting have not been disclosed.
