DUBAI: Pakistan were struggling at 60-6 at lunch after winning the toss on the opening day of the second Test against South Africa in Dubai on Wednesday.
Asad Shafiq was unbeaten on nought as Adnan Akmal was dismissed in the last over before lunch without scoring.
Leg-spinner Imran Tahir has so far taken three wickets and paceman Dale Steyn, declared fit to play after suffering a hamstring injury, got two.
Pakistan lead the two-match series 1-0.
