ISLAMABAD: The Minister for Planning, Development & Reforms, Prof Ahsan Iqbal Wednesday said that billion of rupees were wasted in the past due to poor monitoring of projects.
He stated this while presiding over a meeting of Projects Wing, Planning Commission, said a press release.
The objective of the meeting was to improve the implementation of the Projects by insuring transparency at all level.
The Minister said that "we need to build capacity of the Project managers and other stakeholders in all federal ministries as well as at the provincial level to ensure timely completion of projects".
For this purpose training of the Projects Managers should be arranged by the Projects Wing of the Planning Commission, he added. Proper homework should be done at preparation of the project level.
Ahsan said that PSDP is largely funded from borrowed money therefore it is important that every peny should be utilized productively and added that new technological tool should be used for project monitoring & evaluation.
