boj--- TOKYO: Bank of Japan Governor Masaaki Shirakawa will hold a news conference on Tuesday at 10 p.m. (1300 gmt), the central bank said.

Shirakawa told reporters earlier in the day that he would step down on March 19, three weeks before his term is due to end.
