Bhatti calls on Gilani to discuss upcoming elections

ISLAMABAD: Minister in Charge for the Ministry of National Harmony, Dr. Paul Bhatti called on former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and discussed the role and participation of minorities in the upcoming general elections.

Dr. Paul also affirmed that All Pakistan Minorities Alliance (APMA) would continue its alliance with Pakistan Peoples Party that was agreed upon between former Prime Minister Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed and former Minister of Minorities, Shahbaz Bhatti (late).

Gilani assured Dr. Bhatti of his full cooperation and re-affirmed his party's resolve to bring the minorities into mainstream of social, economic and political life.

During the course of meeting, Dr. Paul also shared with Gilani arrangements for the upcoming National Conference titled "Living together with diversity: Inter-religious and Inter-cultural Dialogue", being organized by Ministry of National Harmony.
