imageKARACHI: Former chief coach Mohsin Khan is confident that Pakistan is capable of winning the 3-Test match series against Sri Lanka despite some chronic problems.

"Though we are facing problems without our trump fast bowler Wahab Riaz and Hafeez's suspect bowling action. But we have played fighting cricket on the tour so far," he told APP in an interview here on Thursday.

The series deciding third and final cricket starts in Pallekele International Stadium from Friday.

However, Pakistan will be without injured Wahab Riaz and Muhammad Hafeez, who is flying to Chennai to undergo test of his suspect bowling action.

"Pakistan team is bunch of good cricketers. But most of our problems are lack of players handling and technical issues are all ourself created," the former opening batsman, said.

Mohsin Khan said too much bowling pressure on Wahab Riaz brought his downfall while left arm paceman Junaid Khan is not properly boosted or handled after coming back from injury.

"Junaid is super fiery bowler. But our supporting staff and team management was unable to motivate and boost him to return to his top form,"he said.

Junaid,he said was lacking killers instinct despite bowling well at times.

He complimented leg-spinner Yasir Shah for his excellent bowling which helped Pakistan to win the first Test in Galle.

He negated the impressions that Sri Lanka may be preparing lively track after consistent success of Yasir Shah to nullify his bowling.

Mohsin said Pakistan came back strongly to win the first Test and went down in the second after were being dismissed for 138.

"Bad batting cost us dearly inspite of team's great fight back in the second innings with Azhar hitting a century," he mentioned.

He said lack of planning, fitness and technical issues are self created because of lack of proper placement of players and their use.

Mohsin said if Pakistan will be missing Wahab Riaz and Muhammad Hafeez, Sri Lanka will be without Kumar Sangakkara to even the balance.

Experience wise Pakistan got the better outfit with better brand of batting.
