KARACHI: Six persons, including five alleged criminals, were killed and four others injured in separate incidents in the city on Thursday.
According to Station House Officer (SHO) Preedy, Shah Jahan Lashari, an encounter took place between police and terrorists at the rear street of Passport office as a result, a terrorist of banned organization Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Mama, alias Shahid was killed. The police also recovered a TT pistol and a hand grenade from his possession.
The terrorist was involved in more than 30 incidents of target killing, the SHO said.
The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Hospital (JPMC) for an autopsy.
In another incident, four alleged accused were killed in police encounter.
According to details, police raided in Ganna Mandi area of Sohrab Goth where the accused opened fire on police and on retaliatory fire by police, two accused were killed and their two accomplices injured, who later succumbed to injuries during shifting to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Police said accused were involved in different crimes.
Separately, Shafiq, 45, was gunned down by unidentified assailants in Baldia in Gulshan-e-Mazdoor. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital for medico-formalities.
A girl, Amna, 22, resident of Furniture Market, UP Morr, was shot and injured by bandits when she offered resistance to them during a dacoity. She was shifted ASH for treatment.
Farah, 30, wife of Faisal, was shot and injured by armed men in Shah Faisal Colony. She was brought to hospital for treatment.
Station House Officer (SHO) Shah Faisal Colony informed that Farah was injured by unknown armed men when she offered resistance to armed men during dacoity.
A man, Zahid, 30, resident of Mianwali Colony, was shot and injured by unidentified armed near Qasba Main Chowrangi. He was shifted to ASH for treatment.
Separately, an infant, Anas, 6, son of Alyas, resident of Gulbarg, was injured by an stray bullet near Madarsat-ul-Madina in Gulbearg. He was shifted to ASH for treatment.
