imageHYDERABAD: Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that his party always wanted the democracy in the country and would support its continuity which was only way to take the country out of the crisis and make it prosperous.

He said this while speaking on the occasion of Ifitar-cum-Dinner hosted by PPP Hyderabad Chapter in his Honor on Monday.

He said, "Besides the democracy, we want all institutions should work parallel with each other to serve the nation". They would also salute Army who are sacrificing their lives for the country and eliminating the terrorism from the country, he added.

He said that Sindh government had donated handsome amount of Rs150 million for IDPs and in addition to this PPP had extended financial support to IDPs.

He said that Sindh government had established camps to monitor the entry of IDPs. Reply to a question, he said that PPP got the credit to impose the tax on services which enabled Sindh government to collect Rs45 billion as earlier Sindh was transferred Rs4 billion from federal divisional pool as share of taxes on services.

He said that the government had surplus stock of rice, cotton and wheat which could be exported to earn foreign exchange after fulfilling our requirements in the country.

Expressing concerns over the issues including shortage of water and sanitation in Hyderabad, he said that all issues of Hyderabad would be resolved and all officers in all departments including HDA and WASA would be held accountable.

People had paid bills to HDA and WASA but said amount was not transferred to WAPDA and other organizations which was a serious issue, he further said the inquiry would be held in this regard.

The government was trying to reduce the unemployment and poverty in the province and in this regard various schemes of development are being started from month of August in the province, shah added.

Speaking on the occasion, former Provincial Minister, Zahid Hussain Bhurgari said that there was issue of water, traffic and load-shedding in Hyderabad and adjacent areas such issues were causing many problems for the common citizens.

Bhurgari said that Imran Khan and Dr. Tahir ul Qadri could not do any thing to the democracy.
