ISLAMABAD: Deputy Chairman of the Senate Salim Mandviwala Wednesday said Parliamentary democracy between Pakistan and Switzerland will help increase bilateral cooperation and create high level political contacts.

During his meeting with Swiss Ambassador Thomas Coli at parliament house here, Salim Mandviwala said that Pakistan highly appreciates its relations with Switzerland and desires to increase the bilateral cooperation on every front.

He said diplomacy at parliamentary level helps explore new ways to have cooperation and is helpful to increase people to people contacts.

Both sides discussed the upcoming visit of Swiss Parliament's Speaker with his delegation which will take place next month on the invitation of Deputy Chairman Senate Salim Mandviwalla.

Mandviwala said that this visit will open new door for cooperation in parliamentary history and such visits should not be restricted to parliamentary heads but should be extended to parliamentary delegations.

These visits will boost the regional and political coordination between our two countries, he added.

Agreeing with Deputy Senate, Swiss ambassador said institutionalized cooperation and coordination at political level between both countries will help create people to people contacts.

He hoped that trips of delegation level will further extend the future Links. Deputy Chairman Senate expressed his best wishes to the Ambassador and assured him of his full support.
