COAS, US senators discuss Kashmir issue
- Afghan reconciliation process and overall regional security issues were also analyzed.

(Karachi) US senators Christopher Van Hollen and Maggie Hassan met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Bajwa at the General Headquarters and discussed the situation in Occupied Kashmir, a statement by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated on Monday.
During the meeting, the Afghan reconciliation process and overall regional security issues were also discussed.
On the occasion, the US lawmakers lauded Islamabad’s efforts for regional peace and stability.
The COAS appreciated Washington’s understanding and support on resolving the Kashmir issue and Pakistan’s efforts in Afghanistan.
Both the sides stressed upon importance of strong bilateral relationship between the US and Pakistan in and beyond security cooperation.

The United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations has added an appeal to end what it calls a “humanitarian crisis” in Kashmir in its report ahead of the annual Foreign Appropriations Act for 2020. The amendment was proposed by Senator Chris Van Hollen.
