IHC orders removal of Zulfi Bukhari's name from ECL
Accepting the request of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered the removal of his name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
During the hearing on Wednesday, Judge Aamir Farooq and Judge Mohsin Akhtar announced their verdict regarding Bukhari's plea to remove his name from the ECL. On December 4, the bench had reserved its verdict and today ordered to remove PM's special assistant's name from the no-fly list, local media reported.
Bukhari's name was placed on the ECL on National Accountability Bureau's request as the bureau is investigating Bukhari for allegedly owning assets beyond his known sources of income.
The close aid of PM is also facing another case in the Supreme Court regarding his appointment as the premier's special assistant on overseas Pakistani's. His appointment was challenged in the top court where petitioners argued that Bukhari owned dual nationality and was also under probe by NAB.
