Hong Kong: Hong Kong stocks slipped in the first few minutes of trade Tuesday as investors brushed off a positive lead from Wall Street, spooked by concerns over the global economy.

The Hang Seng Index eased 0.50 percent, or 128.98 points, to 25,623.40.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.09 percent, or 2.43 points, to 2,587.01 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, added 0.21 percent, or 2.75 points, to 1,335.28.
