All eight buffaloes belonging to the Prime Minister House were auctioned for Rs 2.3 million on Thursday.
A large number of potential buyers were present at the PM House for the auction. One of the buffaloes were sold for Rs385,000, which was the highest price, local media reported.
Most of the potential buyers included supporters of Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz. However, many complained at the auction that the animals were not worthy of the price being quoted for them.
Before the auction of the buffaloes, a total of 61 luxury and surplus vehicles belonging to the PM house were also auctioned on September 17. These auctions were carried out as a part of PM Imran Khan’s austerity drive.
