imageWASHINGTON: Cuba said on Friday that progress had been made in talks with the United States on restoring diplomatic ties, but that there were still outstanding issues to resolve.

In a historic press conference at the US State Department, the head of the Cuban delegation, Josefina Vidal, said Havana still wanted the communist country to be removed from a US blacklist of state sponsors of terror, as well as the provision of financial services for its interests section in Washington, which has little access to the US banking system.
