Brent crude was down 80 cents, or 1.1pc, at $69.79 a barrel by 1:10 p.m. EDT (1710 GMT) after falling to $68.14 earlier in the sessions. U.S. oil fell by 87 cents, or 1.3pc, to $67.57 after reaching lows of $65.73.
Three-month copper on the London Metal Exchange (LME) had climbed 1pc to $9,534.50 a tonne by 1615 GMT, on track to finish the week in positive territory.
Brent rose 12 cents, or 0.2pc, to $75.31 a barrel by 12:28 p.m. EDT (1628 GMT), after earlier rising to $75.78. U.S. crude slipped 1 cent to $73.07 a barrel, after hitting a session high of $73.61 earlier.

Spot gold fell 0.7pc to $1,863.98 per ounce by 1:43 p.m EDT (1743 GMT) after hitting its lowest level since May 17 at $1,848.49. U.S. gold futures settled 0.7pc down at $1,865.9.
