imageKARACHI: Six ships c.V Maersk Denver, C.V MSC Lana, C.V MA CGM Uruguay, M.T Atlantic Glory, m.V KM Tokyo and m.T Bunga Akasia carrying containers, chemicals, soya bean seeds and palm oil were arranged berthing at Qasim international Container Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, Grain and Fertilizer Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday.

Meanwhile two more ships C.V Northern Jamboree and M.V Ikan Bawal with containers and Soya bean seeds also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was observed at the port at 76% on Tuesday where a total of ten ships namely, C.V Maersk Denver, C.V MSC Lana, C.V MA CGM Uruguay, C.V MSC Toronto, C.V Al-Manamah, M.V Adventurer-K, M.V Apollo Bulker, M.V KM Tokyo, M.T Atlantic Glory, M.T Nor Star Intrepid and M.T Bunga Akasia were occupied PQA berths to load/offload containers, cement, soya bean seeds, chemicals, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling operation were carried out efficiently at the prot where a cargo volume 150,483 tonnes, comprising 120,460 tonnes imports and 30,023 tones exports, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,959 containers (TEUs)(2,708 TEUs imports & 1,251 TEUs exports) was handled during last 24 hours.

Two ships, M.V Apollo Bulker and C.V MSC Lana sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two more ships C.V Maersk Denver and M.T Nor Star Intrepid ar expected to sail on sameday (today)afternoon.

Container vessel Northern Jamboree and LPG carried liberty-N are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Engro Terminal respectively on Wednesday, while two more container ships CMA CGM Corneille and MSC Musan are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday.
