ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain Tuesday stopped for two months implementation of capital punishment awarded to Abdul Basit, a paraplegic convict, and directed for an inquiry to determine his physical health.
The President issued directive due to the physical conditions of the convict whose body was affected by a disease.
The President observed that the standards of human rights should be maintained at all costs, said a press release.
