Khosa-1LAHORE: Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa on Friday called for strict action against those responsible for making the sacrilegious movie, as well as an effective legislation at international level to stop such acts aimed at degrading any religion and faith in the world.

Addressing a seminar held at Governor House in connection with Youm-e-Ishq-e-Rasool (PBUH) as declared by federal government, the Governor observed that when Muslim can spill their blood for supremacy of Constitution, parliament and defending the country's border, it is a great pride for them to lay down their lives for their beloved prophet (PBUM). "We not only deem it the essence of our faith but also a pride for us to lay down our lives to protect the sanctity and grace of our Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)," he added.

Khosa said, the objective of the observance of Youm-e- Ishq-e-Rasool was to lodge our protest and anger at international level and make realize those unscrupulous elements that any kind of profanity and disrespect of the Holy Prophet Muhammd (PBUH) shell not be tolerated. The Muslim's belief is incomplete until and unless he/she upholds and prefer the love for the Holy Prophet over his/her parents, brothers, sisters and relatives, he maintained.

Khosa said the sacrilegious movie has not only hurt the sentiments of entire Muslim Ummah but also endangered the world peace, adding that Muslim does not refrain from laying down their lives for the respect and dignity of the Holy Prophet.

The Governor also called for an effective legislation at international level to take to task those resorting to degradation and disrespect of religions and faiths world over. He said Islam advocates peace, harmony, love and fraternity, adding, our this message should not be assumed as our weakness.

On this occasion, the Governor also presented the following resolutions for approval: (1) The OIC has been asked to demand of the United Nations to

bring a resolution in this regard. (2) Condemnation resolutions be presented in all the

assemblies (parliaments) of Pakistan. (3) The United Nations must bring a resolution for taking to

task those resorted to sacrilege (of the Holy Prophet).

The Governor said that Pakistan government by declaring the Youm-e-Ishq-e-Rasool (PBUH) at this critical juncture had shown solidarity with the Muslim World. "We want to give a message to international community that Islam is the religion of peace and the disrespect of the prophets and supreme personality of any religion is altogether an inhuman, unnatural and immoral act. Therefore, the international community must play its role in curbing such anti-human acts in future to maintain the world peace."

The Governor also paid tribute to the Pakistani nation for observing the Youm-e-Ishq-e-Rasool (PBUH) and also urged them to do register their protest and anger in this regard but in a peaceful manner.

Badshahi Mosque's Khateeb Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, Data Darbar Mosque's Khateeb Allama Mufti Muhammad Ramzan Syalvi and Bishop of Lahore, Alexander John Malik also spoke on this occasion.
