KARACHI: In line with guidelines from State Bank of Pakistan, MCB Bank made special arrangements to ensure availability of quality currency notes from its 685 ATMs across the country during Eid holidays and provided Rs2.4 billion to ATM branches, MCB head office said Saturday.
MCB is undertaking this activity every year so that ATM network's availability is ensured while facilitating customers in ATM usage. MCB ATM network is providing services to public at large without any distinction as to whether they are MCB customers or not.
On August 16, 2012, out of total 138,747 transactions on MCB ATM network, 81,413 transactions were carried out by MCB account holders whereas 57,334 transactions carried out by other banks' card holders which shows people’s confidence in MCB ATM systems.
“We estimate around 175,000 customers per day would be visiting our ATMs during Eid holidays,” Aamir Ali Rizvi, senior MCB Bank executive said. “We always made sure ATMs provide maximum convenience to public.
However, acute power outages renders ATM non functional at times. Law and order situation and security alerts restrict staff mobility to ATMs for cash feeding or addressing any other technical issue in case of need,” he added.
MCB arranged Chand Raat activities at selected ATMs in country under Corporate Social Responsibility Program by decorating them.
Branch Managers, other team members will welcome customers, offering small gifts for families of customers.
