UNITED NATIONS: UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan is "disappointed" at the UN Security Council's failure to press for an end of the Syria conflict, his spokesman said after Russia and China vetoed a resolution proposing sanctions against the government.
Annan "is disappointed that at this critical stage, the UN Security Council could not unite and take the strong and concerted action he had urged and hoped for," said his spokesman Ahmad Fawzi.
