KARACHI: All the field offices, SBP Banking Services Corporation (SBP BSC), authorized/concerned branches of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) and all other banks will remain open on June 30, 2012 (Saturday) till late night for collection of FBR taxes and duties.
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has also advised the field offices of SBP BSC, NBP and other banks to provide banking facilities for extended hours on June 28, 2012 (Thursday) till 6:00 p.m. and on June 29, 2012 (Friday) till 8:00 p.m. for collection of FBR taxes and duties.
SBP BSC and NBP will keep their field offices/authorized branches open on June 30, 2012 till 12:00 a.m. (midnight) while all other banks have been advised to open concerned branches and other offices on June 30, 2012 till such time that are necessary to facilitate the special clearing by National Institutional Facilitation Technologies (NIFT) to be held immediately after 10:00 p.m. on June 30, 2012.
National Institutional Facilitation Technologies (NIFT) will provide special clearing facility after 10.00 p.m. on June 30, 2012, in order to ensure that all receipts collected on June 30, 2012 are credited to the Government Accounts on the same date, the Circular Letter said.
Banks/MFBs have been advised to incorporate the impact of Saturday, June 30, 2012 clearings and the permissible activities by designated branches on the same day, in the books of accounts for preparation of their quarterly/half-yearly financial statements, according to BPRD Circular Letter No. 14 issued to the Presidents/Chief Executives of all banks/Microfinance banks.
