Prices of essential food commodities, like vegetable, pulses, chicken meat, sugar, fruits, flour have slightly decreased and increased in retail market, according to a survey carried out by Business Recorder here on Sunday.

Live chicken/meat is being sold at Rs 158 per kilo in local market, which was selling at Rs 168 per kilo in the previous week, showing an increase of Rs 10 per kilo in local market, the survey noticed. Similarly, price of farm eggs has declined as being sold within range of Rs 100 per dozen which was selling at Rs 110 per dozen in the previous week

Price of sugar was unchanged which is being sold at Rs 80 per kilo. Gram flour (baisen) was available at Rs 160 per kg. Flour prices also reduced in retail market as being sold at Rs 55 per kg which was selling at Rs 60 per kg in few days back.

Tomatoes are being sold at Rs 40 per kg which was selling at Rs 50 per kg in last week, showing a decrease at Rs 10 per kg, whereas onion price was remained unchanged as available at Rs 70-80 per kg.

Similarly, ginger was priced at Rs 400 per kg against the previous rate of Rs 450 per kg. Likewise, garlic is being sold within range of Rs 250-260 per kg. Carrots are being sold at Rs 40 per kg. Green chili is being sold at Rs 120 per kg. A bundle of radish is being sold at Rs 20.

Capsicum was available at Rs 150 per kg against the prices of Rs 120 per kg in the previous week whereas peas are available at Rs 120-150 per kg against the price of Rs 100 per kg, arvi at Rs 100, apple, round and long gourds are available within range of Rs 60 and Rs 70-80 per kg. Cauliflower is being sold at Rs 70-80 per kg, cabbage at Rs 60 per kg, bringle is being sold at Rs 50-60 per kg.

It further noted that red colour potato is being sold at Rs 80-90 per kg while others available at Rs 50-60 per kg against the price of Rs 40 per kg. Bitter gourd (Karela) is being sold at Rs 120 and Rs 150 per kg.

The survey noticed the prices of pulses/food grains remained high-side in local market as Dal mash price is being sold at Rs 240 per kg. Likewise, it further witnessed dhoti dal is available at Rs 240 per kg which was selling at Rs-190 per kg in the last week.

It added white lobiya is being sold at Rs 200 per kg against the price of Rs 160 per kg. Dal black (chilka) was available at Rs 220 per kg against the price of Rs 180 per kg, while dal green (chilka) priced at Rs 200 per kg against the Rs 170 per kg, showing an increase of Rs 30 per kg.

Similarly, a substantial increase in price of Moonge was noticed in retail market as available Rs 200 per kg, which was selling at Rs 160 per kg. Good quality rice (sela) is being sold at Rs 150 per kg against the price of Rs 140 per kg in the previous week, whereas toota rice brown colour is being sold at Rs 80 per kg and white color at Rs 70 per kg. Chinese red bean is being sold at Rs 190 per kg against the price of Rs 180 per kg while Tajikistani red bean was available at Rs 170 per kg, which was selling at Rs 170 per kg in the last week.

Dal channa is being sold at Rs 180 per kg which was selling at Rs 170 per kg in the previous week. Big size white channa is being available at Rs 140 per kg while small-size white channa priced at Rs 10 per kg. According to the survey, prices of almost all brand and quality of cooking oil and ghee have unchanged in retail market.
