Lak holds dual charge

ISLAMABAD: Zafar Abbas Lak at present is holding dual charge of Secretary Ministry of Narcotics and Director General Federal Investigating Agency (FIA).

The government’s decision to temporarily suspend its earlier order to swap the bosses of FIA and Ministry of Narcotics Control was conveyed by the establishment division after DG FIA Javed Iqbal handed over charge to Zafar Abbas Lak at the FIA headquarter. Javed Iqbal was scheduled to take over Lak’s former assignment on Monday. At present Lak holds the dual charge.

The suspension of the swap ordered by the Prime Minister was stopped by the President Asif Ali Zardari after advised that Supreme Court could take a negative view on an important case involving a very powerful real-estate tycoon.
