Tariq Pasha to become new FBR chief?

Former chairperson of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and secretary Kashmir Affairs Tariq Pasha has emerged as front-runner for the position of FBR chairmanship. It is learnt that Tariq Pasha worked as FBR chairperson from July 2017 to July 2018.

After Pasha, Rukhsana Yasmin and Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan remained the heads of the FBR. As Shabbar Zaidi is on medical leave, the government is finalizing the name of the new FBR chairperson and Tariq Pasha's name is said to be under active consideration. Sources said former Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Revenue Haroon Akhtar Khan is likely to be appointed as Advisor/Special Assistant to PM on tax matters.
