Deputy Commissioner Thatta Mohammad Usman Tanveer has said that Rs 69.450 million will be spent on repairing and renovating the Primary, Middle and Secondary schools in the district so that the buildings of the schools could be maintained.

He said that repair and renovation of 25 Primary and 20 Middle and Secondary schools including Army Public School in the district would be started soon. He expressed these views in his office on Wednesday while presiding over a meeting on strategy and implementation of the repair and maintenance work of Primary, Middle and Secondary school buildings.

The meeting was attended by the officers of the Education, Education Works, Planning and Development, Accounts and Information Departments.

On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner directed the education officers to submit their proposals for repair, renovation and maintenance of the school buildings in the district so that the repair and maintenance work could be finalised.

He also directed the officers of the Education Works Department to survey the school buildings in this regard and submit a report next week so that after approval the renovation work of the school buildings would be initiated as soon as possible.

Improve the education sector so that students can be educated in a better environment, he added.
