LONDON: Brent crude futures rose by $1 to $123.90 a barrel on Thursday, lifted by escalating tensions between Iran and the West as well as a weaker dollar index.
By 0943 GMT, Brent futures for April delivery were up $1.09 per barrel to $123.99, having risen to fresh highs of $124.09 not seen since May last year.
US crude futures were 31 cents firmer at $106.59 per barrel by the same time.
