The hot words were exchanged on Friday between PML-N and PTI lawmakers in Punjab Assembly on the issue of corruption in the Solid Waste Management Companies. The hot words were exchanged between Industries Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal and PML-N MPA Malik Ahmed Khan when Aslam Iqbal pointed out that former PML-N government had increase the contract of maintaining cleanliness in Lahore from Rs 1.15 billion to Rs 13 billion.
The contract was awarded to Turkish company to favour their near and dear ones.
While responding to the remarks of Industries minister, PML-N MPA Malik Ahmad Khan said that all these allegations were false.
PML-N government gave the contract to these companies in a transparent manner. He offered to constitute a parliamentary committee to probe the corruption in these companies.
Law minister Raja Basharat said that government is ready to allocate a day for discussion on corruption in solid waste management companies.
He also said that contract of Turkish companies is not over and they are working. He said that new contract will be awarded in a transparent manner and through advertisement when the contract of these companies will expire.
The House unanimously passed a resolution in connection with International Women's Day presented by PML-N MPA Hina Butt demanding constitution of Parliamentary Group of women members which will work for providing equal educational facilities and empowerment of women.
Earlier, the meeting of Punjab Assembly's Special Committee was held to discuss the health related issues of Nwawz Sharif. Law Minister Raja Basharat and Prosecution Minister Chaudhry Zaheer Uddin represented the government while from PML-N former speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Muhmmad Iqbal, Khawja Salman Rafiq, Sami Ullah Khan, Malik Ahmed Khan and Khali Tahir Sindhu were present in the meeting.
The committee discussed the health conditions of Nawaz Sharif.
PML-N conveyed their reservations regarding the treatment of Nawaz Sharif. Law Minister Raja Basharat briefed the members regarding the instructions given by Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Usman Buzdar regarding providing treatment facilities to Nawaz Sharif.
