A plastic warehouse in Mehran Town, Korangi Industrial Area (KIA), was gutted, here on Sunday. The owner may have suffered huge financial losses due to fire although no loss of life was reported so far. The fire brigade officials said the inferno was extinguished after hours-long intense rescue efforts. Five fire tenders took part in the rescue operation. The incident caused panic among the area residents and employees of nearby companies. The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KW&SB) spokesman said some 25,000 gallons of water was made available to douse the fire.
