Punjab Minister for Trade and Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal Saturday said that the provincial government is providing income tax holiday for 10 years in industrial sector which will help promote industry in the province.
He was talking to media after inaugurating the 4th DPS International Digital Printing and Signage Exhibition and Conference at the Expo Center. Over 200 representatives from different countries participated in the exhibition while 25 companies from America, Italy, Japan, Turkey and Germany set up their stalls.
He said an authority has been established for setting up of special economic zones while a special economic zone is being set up in Faisalabad on the route of CPEC. The present government will fulfill its promise for creating 10 million jobs and solid steps are being taken in this regard, he added. The Minister said that promotion of industrial sector and creating job opportunities is an important part of 100-day plan of government. New industrial policy and soft loan programme for the skilled youth has been finalized and presentation will be given to the prime minister soon. cHe said exhibitions play pivotal role for the promotion of industrial sector and transfer of technology to Pakistan. Pakistan is a cotton producing country and export can be increased by value addition, he said. He also appreciated the federal government for slashing gas prices for the industrial sector.
