The Karachi Port handled 286,017 tonnes of cargo comprising 220,322 tonnes of import cargo and 65,695 tonnes of export cargo including 7,131 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargos of 220,322 tonnes comprised of 82,416 tonnes of containerised cargo; 53,475 tonnes of bulk cargo; 24,185 tonnes of DAP; 5,808 tonnes of rapeseed and 72,438 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 65,695 tonnes comprised of 52,245 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,650 tonnes of clinker and 10,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 7,131 containers comprising of 3,379 containers import and 3,752 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,093 of 20's and 1,087 of 40's loaded while 12 of 20's and 50 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 425 of 20's and 611 of 40's loaded containers while 509 of 20's and 798 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were seven ships namely Northern Dedication, Express Athens, Virgo, Silver Joan, Sakizaya Noble, Al Mahboobah and Pretty Ivy carrying containers, oil tanker, canola, chemical and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were six vessels viz. OOCL Busan, Virgo, Diyala, Lilac Victorya, Tiger Integrity and Zealand Amsterdam carrying containers, oil tanker and clinkers respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 131,878 tonnes comprising 112,365 tonnes of import cargo and 19,513 tonnes of export cargo including 2,236 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim duringg the last 24 hours on Monday The total import cargo of 112,365 tonnes includes 48,905 tonnes of diesel oil; 6,900 tonnes of palm oil; 11,787 tonnes of coal; 11,317 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 10,485 tonnes of chemical and 22,971 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 19,513 tonnes includes 19,513 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 2,236 containers comprising of 1,209 containers import and 1,027 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
There were three ships namely CV CMA CGM Rigoletto, MV Thetis and MV Chemroad Echo carrying containers, coal and chemical respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another ship namely MT Al-Soor-II carrying diesel oil is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eight vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Rigoletto, MV Hercules Ocean, MV Engia Dina, MV Thetis, MV Chemroad Echo, MT Gas Amozan, MT Al-Soor-II and MT Concerto were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, soyabean, coal, chemical, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as nine ships namely CV MSC Earth, MV Aeolian Heritage, MV Epic Tetus, MV Centnario Foiza, MV Intrepid Republic, MV Al Mahboobah, MV Navig-8 Aronaldo, MT Maria-III and MT Ardmore carrying containers, soyabean, coal, chemical, LPG and diesel oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were four vessels viz. CV MSC Earth, MV Centnario Foiza, MV Navig-8 Aronaldo and MT Alpine Penelope carrying containers, coal, chemical and diesel oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday There are three ships namely CV MSC Sana, CV MSC Tomoko and CV Maersk Columbus carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
