Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association's (PCGA) Central Executive Committee has announced the schedule for election 2015-16. According to the schedule, the election for chairman and vice-chairmen of PCGA will be held on September 22. An election committee headed by Sajjad Hussain Goraya, Chief Election Commissioner, Khawaja Muhammad Farooq and Mehfooz Ahmed Bajwa has been formed. Muhammad Asif Khalil, secretary general of PCGA and Tauqeer Shah would be returning officer and deputy returning officer.
Voters can amend or correct the name of their firms till July 23 and agenda of PCGA's general body meeting will be declared on July 25. While objections regarding the voters list will be decided on August 5. Objections to the list of eligible voters will be entertained till July 23 and decision regarding rejection or acceptance will be made August 5. Appeal against the decision of secretary general/returning officer will be held on August 8. The Election Commission will decide the fate of appeals on August 11. The EC will give decision on appeals on August 11. Appeal against the election commission decision before the Director General Trade organisations can be made on August 15.
The candidature for CEC's 15 seats will be accepted till August 28; scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on August 29; appeals against acceptance or rejection of candidatures can be made on August 31; the election commission will give decision on the appeals on September 2. Official results will be notified on September 17. Nomination papers for chairman, and two vice-chairmen may be submitted on September 18, scrutiny of nomination papers on September 19, election will be held on September 22.
