Population Welfare Department KP: sacked employees warn of sit-in outside Imran's residence

Terminated employees of Population Welfare Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday threatened to stage protest sit-in outside Bani Gala residence of PTI chief Imran Khan if they were not restored immediately. Speaking at press conference at Peshawar Press Club, Zeba Gul, who were working as an assistant in the departing, said that 560 employees including male and female across the province had been served with termination notices on June last year by the Population Welfare Department.
In 2012, she furthered informed that they had appointed under the Annual Development Programme and employees were given salaries on payroll scale but in meanwhile, provincial government introduced fixed polices for them. However, she said that Peshawar High Court (PHC) had declared the policy as null and void and reinstated their services on own payroll scale and others allowances.
She regretted the authorities had terminated them despite the clear orders of superior judiciary. After the turning deaf ears by authorities toward their demands, she said employees had again moved to the Peshawar High Court on June 26 to challenge the order of the department regarding their termination. Following the petition, she said the superior court issued order to authorities concerned to immediately reinstate them, but the order was not yet implemented. She alleged that the provincial Advisor on Population Welfare Shakeel Ahmad had advertised more than 500 vacant posts in newspapers a few weeks ago and ignored the experienced employees. She also blamed that the said advisor would appoint his party workers on the vacant posts.
