Turkey has allocated $1 billion to finance different projects - biometric electoral solution, road infrastructure, e-government, city safety projects, etc in Pakistan. Talking to Business Recorder, Bunyamin Kahraman and Tariq Aziz, representatives of Turkey's state-owned smart technology and integrated solution 'HAVELSAN' said that Turkish government had allocated one billion dollar for Pakistan to provide 85 percent financing on different projects including biometric electoral solution, road infrastructure, e-government, city safety projects, etc.
Bunyamin said that HAVELSAN had developed online electoral solution, which was successfully being operated in Turkey and added that this electoral solution was also displaying in this exhibition. Providing detailed briefing on it, Ismail Gohtaz, an expert of electoral solution said that HAVELSAN was marketing this product at US $1000, which could be reduced if Pakistani government showed interest to acquire it.
He said that this electoral system could be modified as per requirement of Pakistani authorities and added that this system would cut Pakistan's election budget. Meanwhile, Tariq Aziz said that HAVELSAN had given the proposal to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and formal meeting with ECP officials was scheduled in Islamabad.
Apart from this electoral solution, HAVELSAN has successfully completed three projects in Pakistan, he said and added that company had developed electronic warfare test and training system and electronic management system for Pakistan Air Force, besides city security system developed for Lahore. Tariq said that talks with Sindh government for city security system were underway and the company had presently submitted its Expression of Interest to the Sindh government in this regard. He said that Turkey was transferring complete technology to Pakistan hence 40 PAF officers had been trained for electronic warfare test and training system and electronic management system.
