The Karachi Port handled 86,598 tonnes of cargo comprising 51,300 tonnes of import cargo and 35,298 tonnes of export cargo including 3,816 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 51,300 tonnes comprised of 20,401 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,053 tonnes of general cargo; 11,846 tonnes of bulk cargo: 8,700 tonnes of coal; 3,146 tonnes of DAP and 18,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 35,298 tonnes comprised of 20,583 tonnes of containerised cargo; 38 tonnes of general cargo; 697 tonnes of cement and 13,980 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 3,816 containers comprising 1,566 containers import and 2,250 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 400 of 20's and 563 40's loaded while 4 of 20's and 18 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 483 of 20's and 389 of 40's loaded containers while 861 of 20's and 64 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were four ships namely PAC Aries, Hansa Siegburg, Santa Rosa and Muroto carrying containers and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were five vessels viz. Lissy Schulte, APL Sokhna, United Grace, Ikan Sembak and Osam Jubmo-5 carrying containers, oil tanker, coal and tug respectively currently at the berths. There was one ship namely Oriental Gold carrying oil tanker sailed out to sea on Friday, while two ships namely Lissy Schulte and United Grace carrying containers and oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Saturday.
There were three vessels viz. Kota Lawa, Port Louis and Trans Spring carrying containers, oil tanker and steel respectively due to arrive on Friday, while four vessels viz. YM New Jersey, Northern Prelude, Hyundai Singapore and Port Menier carrying containers and oil tanker respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 120,698 tonnes comprising 107,321 tonnes of import cargo and 13,377 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,548 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 107,321 tonnes includes 52,523 tonnes of diesel oil; 13,470 tonnes of edible oil; 15,188 tonnes of coal; 6,709 tonnes of chemical; 300 tonnes of general cargo and 19,131 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo includes 13,377 tonnes of containerised cargo. There were five ships namely CV CMA CGM Kingfish, Mv Ocean Success, MV Al-Soor-II, MV Hullin and MT Golden Covenant with containers, general cargo, chemical, diesel oil and edible oil sailed out sea on Friday morning, while another ship namely CV Express Makalau with containers is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of ten vessels viz. CV Express Makalau, CV CMA CGM Kingfish, CV Phoenix, Moon Ray, MT Ocean Royal, Ocean Success, Hullin, Mega Lahori, MT Al-Soor-II and Golden Covenant currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, general cargo, chemical, coal, diesel oil and edible oil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as six ships namely Genuine Galaxy, MT Quetta, Ashahda, Kuran, Theresa Lab and Rich Sino with chemicals furnace oil, edible oil and diesel oil are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.
There were eight vessels with containers, coal, cement, chemicals general cargo and diesel oil expected to took berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Thursday. There are three ships namely MV Genuine Galaxy, MT Ashahda and MT Rich Sino with chemicals furnace oil and edible oil due to arrive on Friday.
