An evening of fun, festivity and giving back to the community: that's what KFC Pakistan's latest initiative "Mitao Bhook" celebrated recently at SOS Children's Village. This CSR campaign hopes to help remove hunger from the lives of less privileged people in society. Led by the CEO Nigel Belton and Chairman Irfan Mustafa, Mitao Bhook received a warm response from partners and the general public.
Nigel Belton is credited for conducting a large scale campaign of the same kind by the name of Add Hope in South Africa where millions of children die of starvation or suffer from hunger related diseases. The campaign aimed at donating money on every meal bought at KFC outlets to feed these children and give them a better life.
The response of the South African people helped save many such children and Add Hope has now become a permanent feature in KFC outlets all across South Africa. Nigel's successful endeavour has been replicated to help the Pakistani community and enforce KFC's image as the brand that cares. He showed great enthusiasm for the Mitao Bhook initiative and thanked the partners, Pepsi Co and Menu Foods for helping out the cause. He hoped that the people of Pakistan would help make the venture a huge success and lead it to become an example of social responsibility done right.
Mitao Bhook has partnered with the SOS Children's Village to contribute to the community's brighter future. Under this initiative, 50 rupees from each SOS 'Bucket' bought at KFC will be paid to the SOS Children's Village. The people present at the venue were given a tour of the Village, the facilities it provides to the children living at SOS.
The audience applauded the staff and management who dedicated themselves to helping the children in need. Surraiya Anwar, Chairperson of the SOS Children's Village, expressed her appreciation over Mitao Bhook and said that such causes deserve to be put in a greater limelight so that more people can contribute to it. She hoped that KFC would continue to work to bring alive more vital initiatives, especially for children from the less privileged class. The press conference was followed by lunch sponsored by KFC. The event showcased the new SOS buckets and the cause was welcomed with great enthusiasm all around.-PR
