The government on Thursday suspended Accountant General of Pakistan Revenue Tahir Mehmood on Thursday. Sources said Tahir had sent references on alleged corruption in the finance ministry to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in violation of government services rules 1973.
Sources further claimed that he would face an inquiry committee to respond to the accusations levelled against him. The government has suspended the Accountant General as he was not authorised to file any reference in the NAB without the prior approval of the federal government.
