Activities of Karachi Port and Port Qasim

KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 145,631 tonnes of cargo comprising 103,931 tonnes of import cargo and 41,700 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.

The total import cargo of 103,931 comprised of 21,800 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 4,700 tonnes of Rock Phosphate, 7,180 tonnes of Soya Bean Seeds and 70,251 tonnes of Oil and Liquid Cargo.

The total export cargo of 41,700 tonnes comprised of 29,581 tonnes of containerized cargo, 456 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 3,624 tonnes of Cement, 5,239 tonnes of Rice and 2,800 tonnes of Oil & Liquid Cargo.

As many as, 4658 containers comprising of 1546 containers import and 3111 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The break-up of imported containers shows 407 of 20’s and 486 of 40’s loaded while 25 of 20’s and 71 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 569 of 20’s and 443 of 40’s loaded containers while 240 of 20’s and 708 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours on Tuesday.

Some 05 ships namely, Al Salam II, Tomkini Felicity, Ardmore Sealifter, Fairchem Kiso and Northern Dexterity have berthed at Karachi Port.

Nearly 06 ships namely, MT Lahore, Juist, Diyala, Msc Sarya III, CMA CGM Berlioz and CNC Dream have sailed out from Karachi Port.

Around 06 ships namely, Sunrise, Yantian Express, Long Beach Trader, Oel Kedarnath, PU to Hai and PS Queen were expected to arrive on the same day.

PORT QASIME

A total of 08 ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them, 02 ships, Kotor Bay and Sea Vine left the Port on Tuesday morning, while 02 more ships, Lady Margaux and MilahaRasLaffan are expected to sail on today in the afternoon.

A cargo volume of 121,530 tonnes, comprising 99,146 tonnes imports cargo and 22,384 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 1,318` Containers (178 TEUs Imports and 1,140 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

There are 14 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them 05 ships, Merkur Ocean, Lisa, MSC Sarya, Torm Philippines and G Bright carrying, Containers, Gas oil and Chemical are expected to take berths at QICT, FOTCO and EVTL Tuesday, 14th June-2022.
