KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 176,960 tonnes of cargo comprising 120,804 tonnes of import cargo and 56,156 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.

The total import cargo of 120,804 comprised of 49,025 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 8,179 tonnes of Wheat, 6,842 tonnes of Yellow Soya Bean Seeds and 56,758 tonnes of Oil/Liquid Cargo.

The total export cargo of 56,156 tonnes comprised of 50,136 tonnes of containerized cargo, 402 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 218 tonnes of Rice and 5,400 tonnes of Oil & Liquid Cargo.

About, 8967 containers comprising of 3510 containers import and 5457 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The break-up of imported containers shows 948 of 20’s and 1352 of 40’s loaded while 00 of 20’s and 46 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 851 of 20’s and 1099 of 40’s loaded containers while 210 of 20’s and 1099 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours on Tuesday.

Nearly 02 ships namely, Oriental Viola and TS Singapore have berth at Karachi Port.

Some 06 ships namely, As Alva, Jwala, Ever Ursula, Leader, Apl Oregon and One Henry Hudson sailed out from Karachi Port.

Around, 08 cargoes namely APL Antwerp, Kota Naked, OEL KEDARNATH, Long Beach Trader, Xin Wu Han, Seagull, Haiphuong Glory and Nacc Vega were expected to arrive at the port.

PORT QASIM

PQA berths were engaged by 07 ships during the last 24 hours, out of them, two Container ships, MSC Eyra and MSC Esthi left the port on Tuesday morning, while three more ships, Seago Istanbul, Hantor Trader and Khairpur are expected to sail from QICT, PQEPT and FOTCO on today in the afternoon.

A cargo volume of 109,631 tonnes, comprising 65,126 tonnes imports cargo and 44,505 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 3,719 Containers (1,208 TEUs Imports and 2,511 TEUs export) was handled at the Port.

There are 10 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them, three ships, IVS Pinehurst, Philo xenia, Tectus & four more ships, Hain Hai Star, Broog, Maersk Sentosa and Archimidis scheduled to load/offload Rice, Coal, Palm oil, Mogas, Natural gas and Containers are expected to take berths at PQEPT, LCT, FOTCO, FAP, EETL and QICT on Tuesday, 15th February, while another container vessel ‘America’ is due to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday, 16th February-2022.
