KARACHI: On Thursday, PKR went down against USD in both interbank and open markets. It also went down against Euro, AED and SR in open market. This was in line with Asian currency markets where dollar held at four month high after rising Delta variant COVID cases rattled Asian countries and strong US jobs data raised expectations of US monetary policy tightening earlier than expected.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee lost 10 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 164 and 164.10 respectively.

OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR lost 20 paisas for buying and 30 paisas for selling over yesterday's rates closing at 163.80 and 164.30 respectively.

Against Euro, PKR lost 50 paisas for both buying and selling reversing yesterday's gains closing at 190.50 and 192 respectively.

Against UAE Dirham, PKR lost 10 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 44.40 and 44.60 respectively.

Against Saudi Riyal, PKR lost 10 paisas for both buying and selling as well closing at 43.40 and 43.60 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee-greenback parity stayed unchanged amid sluggish trading activity in the local currency market on Thursday.

According to the local currency dealers, the greenback did not witness any change in its demand and supply situation throughout the trading session as it firmly closed at its opening trend for buying and selling at Rs 163.70 and Rs 164.90 respectively.

On the contrary, the national currency failed to hold its strength and declined its day earlier recoveries against the pound sterling. As a result, the pound's buying and selling rates rose from Wednesday's closing of Rs 224.60 and Rs 226.00 to Rs 225.50 and Rs 227.20, respectively, they added.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar gained 10 pasias against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Thursday.

The dollar opened at Rs 164.60(buying) and Rs 164.70(selling) against the last rate of Rs 164.50(buying) and Rs 164.60(selling).

It closed at Rs 164.60(buying) and Rs 164.70(selling).

The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold traded at Rs. 110,400 (selling) and Rs110,000 (selling).
