Made in Pakistan Alonna-Ventura respiratory device launched

  • Back in September, the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) approved the Alsons, becoming the second company for the production of ventilators, as the country seeks to make itself self-sufficient in the manufacturing of PPEs and other related equipment required to curb the COVID pandemic.

The Ministry of Science and Technology organised the national launch of Alonna-Ventura, a UK-qualified sophisticated respiratory device, made in Pakistan by the Alsons Group.

Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain was the chief guest of the event which was attended by SAPM on health Dr. Faisal Sultan, among other government officials and members of the medical profession.

As per details, the Alnno-Ventura respiratory device follows the designs and specifications of the UCL Ventura and is manufactured under license and instructions from UCL Institute of Healthcare Engineering in the UK.

It is pertinent to mention that Alsons, a Karachi based group specializing in the manufacturing of mechanical components (from bars, plates, forgings, and castings), CNC plastic injection molding, stamping, and assemblies in the fields of hi-tech engineering, aerospace, automotive, oil & gas, and power sector.

Back in July, the National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) became the first organization in Pakistan to indigenously developed and started local manufacturing of “SafeVent SP100”.
