In line with the vision of the Prime Minister Imran Khan to automate the tax collection system to facilitate the taxpayers, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) under the guidance of Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Revenue Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA)

This would allow real-time verification of CNICs and associated details.

FBR was of the view that that integrating NADRA and FBR systems will improve the delivery of quality services to taxpayers by FBR. This is because it will help to automatically include the data of tax refunds in the withholding statements and tax returns.

The process will save time spent in compliance of rules and ease of doing business will also be promoted.

FBR further said that at this stage, linking the data with each other will pave the way for further integration of the FBR system with other agencies. This facility will create ample opportunities to identify people who are out of the tax net or hiding their income and assets.
